The Library started in *** with a collection of — books. Now the elibrary has — books. This is the first digital library in Jahangirnagar University. The present total measurement of the library is — square feet.
since its inception, has been providing library support to students, teachers, researchers and general readers . This library has a collection of books, journal volumes and periodicals. These books and journals cover all areas of knowledge and information and reflect the nature of a general university with equal emphasis on humanities, social sciences, business administration, sciences and applied sciences. The library has also a huge archive of newspapers and other publications.

Vision:
The vision of the library is to become a world-class resource center to facilitate quality teaching, learning and research in the university.
Mission:
The mission of the library is to provide comprehensive resource and service to support research, teaching and learning needs of the university community using modern techniques and technologies.
Objectives:
- To support the mission of the university as a premier academic and research institution embracing traditional values of higher education as well as the knowledge required for the global community.
- To select, organize and supply research, teaching and learning resources for all users.
- To provide an environment that stimulates the use of library materials and services and supports a variety of learning modes.
- To understand the needs of users and provide user-centered services to meet their needs.
- To achieve quality and good professional practice in all activities.
Library Membership
All students, Department members, institute members, part-time institute members, officers, teaching assistants and research assistants are entitled to become the library member. Pay slip of admission fees, personal e-mail and one copy passport size photograph are required for membership.
Library Hours
The library remains open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday through Thursday. On Saturday it remains open from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and maintains single shift from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm during the semester break. It remains closed on public holidays and other dates announced by the university authorities.
